My girlfriend/partner/wife and I have been together for two years/five years/seven years. We're both pretty independent/ambitious/successful more info people, so we often spend our evenings doing our own thing/separate activities/different hobbies. But lately, my girlfriend/partner/wife has been complaining that I don't spend enough time with her/make an effort to connect/show interest in what she's doing. She says I'm always focused on work/on my phone/lost in thought and not really present/engaged/attentive when we're together.
I understand her feelings. It's important to me that our relationship is strong, but I also need my alone time/some space to recharge/to pursue my own interests. I don't want to feel like I'm constantly being nagged/on edge/in trouble for wanting some time to myself.
Maybe I'm just a bad communicator/terrible at handling this situation, but I don't know how to make her happy without feeling suffocated/balance our needs/find a compromise. AITA for thinking that it's okay to need some personal time/have my own hobbies/prioritize myself sometimes?

You use it with a screen/keyboard/touchpad to give it commands/instructions/ideas, and it shows you things/plays sounds/makes pictures based on what you tell it/ask it/type in. It's pretty awesome/powerful/useful!
